Jen Hamilton is sharing the “nitty gritty details” about her marriage split.
The New York Times bestselling author and nursing influencer, 35, claimed that her ex-husband Brian Hamilton was living a “double life” in a candid video posted to Instagram Sunday, July 26, as she opened up about their split.
“I’m done being people’s PR manager. My kids know, everybody in my orbit knows, so I’m just going to give you the nitty gritty details so it can give you enough information to be like, ‘Okay I get it,’ ” Jen said. “…All you need to know is this person had a double life.”
Jen then referred to a video of herself crying over the split posted in June, saying, “That was before I knew about the double life. And what has come out since has caused me to deal with this as a death … I do not know this person, truly.”
“So I’d been the only one working for a long time because I wanted to take stress off of him … And while I was at the hospital taking care of people, he found the time to have a whole other life,” Jen alleged of Brian, with whom she shares sons Ellis and Luke.
Jen claimed that Brian “didn’t ever really have much interest in me,” while hinting at him being romantically involved with someone else.
“A direct quote that I got was, ‘I knew about you. He talked about you all the time, but I didn’t know you had so many followers,’ ” Jen alleged.
“Even when I was getting next to no physical affection whatsoever, I would in a million years never look at another guy like that,” she continued. “And although these were all his choices, the other person who gave me that direct quote, let’s just say, old enough to know better.”

Jen also addressed the backlash she’s received in publicly discussing her marriage split.
“People can judge me all they want, I’m dealing with it how I’m dealing with it,” she said. “Secrets and hiding our what I believe helped make all this possible, so the way that I’m dealing with it is by not having any secrets … I never ever ever in my life told this man a lie.”
PEOPLE has reached out to Brian and a representative for Jen for comment.
Jen and Brian announced their separation after 15 years of together on June 15. The couple tied the knot in August 2012, with Jen marking their 13th wedding anniversary in a post on Instagram on Aug. 5, 2025.
“This comes with enormous pain for both of us but also gratitude for the 15 years of shared history, love and friendship,” their statement read. “What we are committed to is loving each other well through this transition and placing the wellbeing of the family we created at the center.”

“…We both want to be very clear. This wasn’t about falling out of love,” the message continued. “That’s why this is so devastating. It was about recognizing that sometimes the most loving thing you can do is give someone space to figure out complex things. And that’s exactly what we are doing.”
In a video posted on Instagram shortly before her clip discussing the pair’s split on July 26, Jen thanked her followers for helping her raise over $40,000 in “three or four days” for “women going through difficult transitions in their lives.”
“…Going through my own separation and divorce, I am very blessed to be able to make decisions for myself. And there are so many women who are not able to, whether it’s finances, resources, and I want to make that happen, to get women out of not awesome, terrible situations,” she explained.
The influencer launched the ‘Sister of Solidarity’ merch collection on her website, with 100% of the profits from all of her merch sales in July and August going to charities that support women rebuilding their lives.
