In a world filled with fast fashion that falls apart quickly, I’ve come to value high-quality pieces that stand the test of time. My latest favorite with staying power is a washable silk skirt from Quince, which I’ve owned for 10 months and shows no signs of wear.
I spotted this on Quince’s site last summer and was thrilled at the chance to test it. When I first got it, I was immediately impressed by the soft Mulberry silk, rich color, and comfortable design, and now it’s become a regular part of my wardrobe rotation.

In the past, I’ve admittedly justified clothing purchases by swearing I could wear a particular skirt or dress all year, only to realize the fabric was too thin for winter or the colors didn’t really suit a spring vibe. After wearing it on repeat through summer, fall, winter, and spring, I can attest that the Quince option is a tried-and-true, year-round closet staple.

I love fashion, but I prioritize comfort, which is why this has been such a winner for me. While the rich burgundy color and subtle sheen feel elegant, the elastic waistband and smooth fabric make me feel like I’m wearing pajamas. I’m never in a rush to take this off, which is why I’m eyeing more colors and patterns, including the new polka dot option and the best-selling black.

It’s an easy base layer that I’ve styled countless ways. This spring, I opted for a burgundy tank top and a button-down. In the winter and fall, I paired it with cozy sweaters, and now that summer is on the horizon, I’m wearing it with lightweight T-shirts and flowy tanks. It fits true to size, too — I’m a size 16/18, and the 2X fits me well. At 5-foot-3, it hits about mid-calf, which is ideal for summer airflow and layering with tights in cold weather.

Another fan agreed with me, saying that this “stunning” skirt is “easy to wear all year long.” One person noted it is “very soft and delicate,” which I found, too, but not so precious that you have to worry about damaging it. Others noted it took time to get the wrinkles out with a steamer, which I also found, but once it was smoothed out, it stayed that way, even after multiple washes.
Add this skirt or one of Quince’s other comfortable options to your wardrobe for endless easy outfit combinations.
