August kept me busy — and spending more than I expected.
Between weekend getaways, weddings, birthday dinners, and end-of-summer plans, I went over budget before I knew it, and now I’m feeling the repercussions. So instead of going without, I’m simply being more selective about what makes it into my cart right now. And luckily Macy’s, my favorite place to shop, has a $50-and-under sale hub with tons of fashion, home, and beauty deals, so I still have plenty to choose from without going overboard.

Inspired by the way Julia Roberts and Jessica Alba have made wide-leg jeans look both relaxed and polished, I’m ready to make the silhouette my go-to for fall. Luckily, this under-$50 pair makes the trend easy to try. The mostly-cotton fabric has a touch of spandex for added give, while the high-rise waist and vertical seams create the leg-lengthening look I’m always after for my petite frame. I can already picture myself pairing the jeans with sweaters and blouses already in my closet.

I’ve been wanting to refresh my bed for fall without replacing every piece of bedding. If your set-up could use an update too, this three-piece set is an easy place to start.
