Emira D’Spain is ushering in the next generation of honesty around plastic surgery.
The Next Gen NYC star, 29, underwent a rib remodeling procedure in March and spoke about the details of the transformation, including the reactions to it, while appearing on Page Six Radio.
D’Spain, whose desire was to have a more defined waist after growing up with a “wide torso,” said that people questioned why she had undergone the cosmetic surgery because of her appearance. “People were like, well, you’re already so skinny. You don’t need to do anything,” she recalled.

Having dealt with an eating disorder in the past, D’Spain, who identifies as transgender, said the body-shaming comments made her “mad.” She explained: “I’ve been open about that and am very particular about the way I look. We’re on camera 24/7, it’s impossible to not get in your head.”
D’Spain’s surgery was performed by New York City surgeon Thomas Sterry. His website provides the details of rib remodeling, which is done by making incisions in the lower ribs and resculpting them to create a defined hourglass shape, instead of removing the actual bones.
When announcing that she was undergoing the operation on Instagram on May 18, D’Spain revealed that she coupled it with liposuction. Three weeks post-op, she beamed over her results in a follow-up post.

“I’m measuring in now at a 25-inch waist. My hips now [appear] fuller because my waist is more snatched,” she explained, adding that recovery required her to wear a corset-like compression garment for three months for 23 hours a day to get her desired results.
And while happy about her new look, D’Spain admitted that recuperating was “brutal” for the first five days. Still, she said, “I feel so beautiful.”
In 2025, D’Spain also shared an Instagram video in 2025 revealing that she underwent a nose job.
