An 83-year-old man is missing after hiking in Grand Canyon National Park.
Gerald Guinn was separated from his hiking partner in the national park’s North Rim area along Forest Service Road 610 (Dog Saddle). He was last seen at 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, the National Park Service reports.
Around 5 p.m., his hiking partner alerted officials that Guinn had not returned.
The Grand Canyon National Park staff joined the Coconino County Search and Rescue and Kane County Search and Rescue to begin the search on July 21. The search continued on Wednesday, July 22, and included drones and helicopters scanning the park.
Guinn was last seen wearing a tan long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and a ball cap. He did not have any hiking gear or camping equipment with him when he went missing. Guinn is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and 140 lbs., and has gray hair.
Officials are asking anyone who may have encountered Guinn or knows his location to contact the NPS ISB Tip Line at 888-653-0009, submit information online or send an email isb@nps.gov.
