‘Dancing with the Stars’ returns with a two-night season 35 premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 15, and Wednesday, Sept. 16

Dancing with the Stars fans have a new duo to root for.
On Monday, Aug. 17, Dancing with the Stars pro Witney Carson appeared on Good Morning America to unveil the news that she will be paired with Jimmy Kimmel Live! star Guillermo Rodriguez for the upcoming season.
“Dude, I was so stoked,” Carson said on GMA. “I think he is so sweet. He’s so fun. That’s exactly what I need in this season of life that I’m in, just someone who’s fun, personable.”
She joked that she hopes they still connect once he realizes that she doesn’t drink “and we won’t be able to do tequila shots.”
“But we can connect other ways. I’m really, I’m really excited,” she said.
Carson, 32, is a two-time DWTS champ, first earning the distinction in season 19 with Alfonso Ribeiro, who now co-hosts alongside Julianne Hough. Carson recently won last season alongside her partner Robert Irwin. Before her 2024 victory, Carson joined DWTS as a member of the dance troupe in 2013. She then became a pro on the series in 2014’s season 18 and her partners over the years have included Cody Simpson, Wayne Brady and Frankie Muniz.

During her interview on GMA, she revealed other big news: she’s expecting her third baby with husband Carson McAllister. They are already parents to sons Leo, 5, and Jet, 3.
Carson recently spoke with PEOPLE about her pregnancy, sharing that she is “so incredibly grateful” to become a mom again. “My family is growing. We’re so blessed to keep growing our family,” Carson told PEOPLE. “I can’t wait to become a family of five.”
Her morning show appearance comes a month before DWTS’ 35th season premieres on ABC on Sept. 15.
The celebrity participants dancing their way to the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy this time around will include Summer House standout Ciara Miller, The Traitors runner-up Maura Higgins, Savannah Bananas star Jackson Olson and Rodriguez.
Rodriguez became the fourth celebrity announced after revealing the news during a June episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, when host Jimmy Kimmel jokingly asked him to not “lose a single adorable pound.”
“I promise,” Rodriguez replied. “If I lose five pounds, I’m gonna gain 10 pounds right away.”
The remaining celebrity contestants and professional dancers will be unveiled on Good Morning America on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
A new dancer will also be making their way to the ballroom this season. Kamri Peterson, the former Dancing with the Stars: Juniors pro, was announced as the latest member of the show’s troupe during DWTS Con on Sunday, Aug. 2. Additional troupe dancers will be announced at a later date.
Dancing with the Stars arrives with a two-night season 35 premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 15, and Wednesday, Sept. 16, on ABC and Disney+. Episodes will stream the following day on Hulu.
