The Momster at the End of This Book, published on April 7 by Chronicle Books, puts a new spin on the classic Sesame Street Little Golden Book, The Monster at the End of This Book. The story celebrates mothers and mother figures, and features beloved characters like Grover, Cookie Monster and more.

“We've created a brand-new, standalone story celebrating moms and caregivers everywhere, inspired by Sesame Street's signature blend of warmth, humor and playful storytelling,” Brittney McInerney, art and entertainment publishing director at Chronicle Books, told PEOPLE.
“Developed in collaboration with Sesame Workshop, The Momster at the End of This Book features sweet, silly, laugh-out-loud moments for kids and families to honor the MOM-sters they know and love.”
The Momster at the End of This Book kicks off a new series of Sesame Street books set to be published by Chronicle Books in the coming months. Elmo Checks In: How Is Everybody Doing?, inspired by Elmo's viral check-in post, will be published on Oct. 27.

Two new Sesame Street board books for young readers will hit shelves in 2027, with an Elmo-shaped board book to be published in the summer and an Abby Cadabby-shaped book arriving in the fall.
“For more than 55 years, Sesame Street has helped children and families navigate big feelings with warmth, humor and heart,” said Samantha Kennedy, VP of marketing and brand Strategy at Sesame Workshop, in a statement shared with PEOPLE.
