Cat owners know all too well how difficult a trip to the vet is.
But this feline took things a step further when it got trapped inside a mechanical chair trying to escape its owner taking it to the vet in Kansas.
The Overland Park Police Department (OPPD) shared images of officers and firefighters tending to the distressed pet on Instagram on Saturday, March 21.
The furry ginger and white feline was pictured stuck in the chair’s mechanism as officials attempted to free the pet while wearing protective gloves.

An officer and two firefighters were also pictured holding up the leather recliner as another used a torch and tools to release the animal.
The OPPD statement said: “Well, here is a prime example of team work on a Saturday morning in [Overland Park]. This feline was caught in a mechanical reclining chair, desperately trying to escape its owner for a vet visit.”
Authorities also thanked the Overland Park Fire Department for using a saw to free the cat with the assistance of the Overland Park Police Department's Animal Control.
“The feline is fine and arrived to the vet for its annual checkup. #8livesleft," the statement added.
