Carmen Electra is opening up about one of her final conversations with Prince.
In a Tuesday, May 26 appearance on the Legally Goff podcast, Electra, 54, shared how she and the musical artist — who dated in the 1990s and worked together when she danced for him — were not on the best of terms during one of the last times they spoke privately.
"This is a story that's never been told," the model and actress shared, adding, "A lot of time went by and things had happened with us that, you know, weren't great. And I think it was maybe the second-to-last time I was actually alone with him, and we were talking, he said to me, 'You're going to be a Marilyn Monroe type.' "

She continued: "And I remember thinking, 'That's weird because I'm not an actress. I don't want to be an actress. I hadn't posed for Playboy."
"And come to find out, I think Playboy was the first magazine Marilyn Monroe shot. And I have the second-most [Playboy] covers worldwide, second to Pamela Anderson," she said. "Honestly, I feel like he was almost psychic in a way. He just knew things."
Elsewhere in the interview, Electra recounted how she ended her romantic relationship with Prince after she "found out he was dating a lot of other girls."
"I was so young and so naive to think that Prince would be with only one person, but I believed him," she said.
Born Tara Leigh Patrick, Electra was discovered by Prince. She met him at a nightclub, and the two later watched the 1954 film Carmen Jones together. As she said on the podcast, it was the musician who gave her her new name, telling her, "You don't look like a Tara. How could your mom name you Tara? You look like a Carmen."
"And then Electra came later," she said, noting that her new last name was rooted in her dancing skills. "I remember he would videotape me dancing to show the other dancers, like, 'I want you to dance like this,' 'cause he would go, 'My god, you're so fast. You dance so hard and so fast … you're like electric.' And then later on, he came up with Electra and that's where my name came from."
Electra was granted a legal name change by a judge in 2024.

Electra went on to marry former NBA star Dennis Rodman in November 1998 (the two divorced six months later) and Dave Navarro, the lead guitarist for Jane’s Addiction, in 2003 (the two announced their separation in 2006, and finalized their divorce in 2007).
Prince died in April 2016 at the age of 57.
