Lindsay Hubbard is explaining a parenting rule she swears by that some may not understand when it comes to her daughter Gemma.
On the Tuesday, May 19 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the 39-year-old Summer House star said there’s a reason her 1-year-old doesn’t appear on social media but is featured on her new series, In The City.

“I’m sure people are like, ‘That’s so weird. Like, she doesn’t show her on social media, but shows her on TV,' ” the Bravo personality said.
Hubbard welcomed Gemma with ex-boyfriend Turner Kufe in December 2024. Although the former couple broke up five months later, they maintain a co-parenting relationship.
“First of all, this is my life,” she continued telling Cohen, 57. “This is my job. This is what I do, and I would like to think maybe I’m a little bit good at it. But like, you can’t have a new show that shows me as a mom without showing me as a mom, right?”
“I also wanna pick and choose my battles, right?” the influencer added. “As adults, we learn how to pick and choose our battles, so if you don’t want her on social media, no problem. I won’t show her, as long as I can continue doing my job and provide for my daughter.”
In The City “follows New Yorkers as they navigate the biggest transitions of their lives at the time: marriage, separation, parenthood, reinvention, and the reality of growing up without growing apart,” per a synopsis.
The debut episode aired on Tuesday evening and saw Hubbard returning home after “another turbulent summer in the Hamptons” to tackle motherhood head-on.
PEOPLE spoke exclusively to Hubbard in April at The Daily Front Row's 10th Annual Fashion Los Angeles Awards about her "godsend" baby girl.

"Gemma's amazing. She is just a godsend. She's 16 months old," she said at the time. "I feel like I honestly gave birth to my twin. I'm apologizing to my parents all the time because I'm like, 'I'm exhausted.' But she has all the elements that you want in a kid."
The proud mom also gushed about her daughter’s “big personality.”

“She's fearless. She's a tomboy, but she's a girly girl. She loves to cuddle, play, socialize, and wants to be the mayor everywhere she goes, saying hi to everyone. She blows kisses. She takes flowers off of tables, and hands them to people,” Hubbard told PEOPLE. “She learned how to stir, because I stir my coffee in the morning with a straw. Now, whenever she sees a drink with ice in it, in a straw, she stirs it for people. She'll only take a sip out of her sippy cup if she's cheersing someone. I'm like, 'Oh no. What did I do?' "
