The band has canceled dozens of shows on their Pet Sounds 60 tour

The Beach Boys have canceled more concerts on their comeback tour just a day before they were expected to resume touring.
The band’s planned performance at The Big E Arena in West Springfield, Mass. on Thursday, Sept. 24, appears to have been canceled, and is no longer an active event listing on the venue’s website.
Univest Performance Center in Quakertown, Pa., where the band was scheduled to perform on Friday, Sept. 25, said the cancellation was due to “circumstances beyond the control” of the venue. The Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach, S.C. cited the same reason for canceling the group’s show originally slated for Sunday, Sept. 27.
The band is next scheduled to perform on Oct. 9 at the Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, Ill., at PNC Pavilion in Cincinnati, Ohio, and at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium on Oct. 11, per their official website.

The band’s tour comes amid the 60th anniversary of their career-defining album, Pet Sounds, which was released in 1966.
In July, the band postponed their summer tour dates as frontman Mike Love took time to “recharge.”
“Playing for you is the highlight of our summer every year — especially as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States while saluting the 60th Anniversary of Pet Sounds,” began a statement from the band shared to Love’s Instagram at the time.
“We’ve been having a blast out there, and to keep the good vibrations going strong, we’ll be taking a short break to recharge before getting back on the road in September,” he explained.

The Beach Boys, widely considered the founding fathers of the surf rock sound that emerged from Southern California in the 1960s, made a name for themselves with early hits including “Surfin’ USA” and later songs such as “Good Vibrations” and “God Only Knows” from the experimental Pet Sounds.
In June 2025, co-founder Brian Wilson died at age 82, leaving Love, 85, and Al Jardine as the sole surviving founding members of the band. Jardine, 84, tours with members of Wilson’s band under the name Al Jardine & The Pet Sounds Band.
