It Ends With Us producer Jamey Heath has been accused of “disturbing” misconduct by the movie’s star Blake Lively.
Heath was named alongside the film’s director — and Lively’s costar — Justin Baldoni in the Dec. 20 complaint, which alleged that the actress was subject to “invasive, unwelcome, unprofessional and sexually inappropriate behavior” from both the producer and director.
Heath is the CEO of Wayfarer Studios, a production company co-founded by Baldoni and billionaire investor Steve Sarowitz. Heath and Baldoni also have a close personal friendship — Baldoni referred to the producer as his “best friend” in a November 2024 birthday tribute — and are co-hosts of the Man Enough podcast.
On Dec. 20, Baldoni’s It Ends With Us costar Lively accused him and Heath of “disturbing” and “unprofessional” behavior on set, including sharing their “personal sexual experiences” and exhibiting a “shocking lack of boundaries” by entering the actress’s trailer “uninvited.”
Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s lawyer, told PEOPLE in a statement that Lively’s allegations were “false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt.” PEOPLE reached out to Heath for comment.
Here’s everything to know about Jamey Heath and what he has been accused of in Lively’s complaint.
He is the CEO of Wayfarer Studios
Heath got his start in the entertainment industry as a songwriter and producer for stars like Solange, Chaka Khan, Andy Grammer and Idina Menzel.
In 2021, he teamed up with Baldoni to work on his and Sarowitz’s production company, Wayfarer Studios. He held a number of positions before becoming the president in September 2021, per his LinkedIn.
The studio has funded several projects in addition to 2024’s It Ends With Us, including this year’s Will Ferrell’s Netflix documentary Will & Harper and The Garfield Movie. Per its website, Wayfarer “strives to harness the power of storytelling to champion inspirational stories that act as true agents for social change.”
He is married and a father to four children
Heath married his wife, Natasha Heath, on Sept. 29, 2013, and the pair have welcomed two children — Day and Breakwell — since. Heath is also a father to his two older kids, daughter Jazmin and son Nakhjavani, the former of which made the producer a grandfather in 2023 with the birth of her son Kaedon.
Heath’s wife was mentioned in Lively’s complaint, with the actress alleging that the producer showed her and her on-set assistant a graphic and “fully nude” video of his wife giving birth — which Lively initially thought was “pornography” — without consent. Lively claimed that when she asked Heath if his wife knew he was sharing the video, he replied, “She isn’t weird about this stuff.”
Heath co-hosts a podcast about exploring gender roles
Heath, Baldoni and their fellow co-host, journalist Liz Plank first launched their Man Enough podcast in June 2021. Per its website, the show “explores what it means to be a man today” and challenges stereotypical gender roles.
The hosts have welcomed guests from Drake Bell to Anthony Ramos and have had open conversations about how expectations of masculinity have impacted their lives. Past episodes have touched on topics from consent on a first date to why it’s hard for men to cry.
“Man Enough is a conversation,” Baldoni said of the show in a March 2022 trailer. “Undefining traditional gender roles that we’ve been taught forever.”
Following the filing, Plank announced she was leaving the podcast on Dec. 23, writing in a statement to PEOPLE that she had her “representatives inform Wayfarer that I will no longer be co-hosting.”
“As this chapter closes for me, I remain committed to the values we’ve built together,” she said, addressing her listeners. “Thank you for being here, for trusting me, and for being by my side for the last four years. We all deserve better, and I know that together, we can create it.”
He is “best friends” with Baldoni
As podcast co-hosts and business collaborators, Baldoni and Heath have developed a close relationship outside of the workplace as well. In his birthday tribute for Heath, Baldoni opened up about how his partner is “one of the best friends I’ve ever had in my entire life.”
“You make me a better husband, you make me a better father,” he said. “I love how you parent. You’re the person I call at 3 in the morning when I’m having a panic attack … You make everyone around you better.”
In the caption of the TikTok post, he added that Heath was the “reason” It Ends With Us existed and that he supported him through the movie-making process.
“He’s the one who kept me going, who always reminded me of my WHY when the winds got strong and I felt like I wasn’t enough,” Baldoni wrote.
Lively accused Heath and Baldoni of exhibiting a “shocking lack of boundaries” on the set of It Ends With Us
On Dec. 20, Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni and Heath, and members of the former’s PR team, alleging that they had behaved inappropriately on set and, following her speaking up, subsequently started a retaliatory smear campaign against the actress.
In the complaint, she alleges that the two shared their “personal sexual experiences” without her consent and pressured her to do the same.
In another instance, when Lively requested a meeting with Heath to discuss Baldoni’s actions on the second day of filming, she alleged that he “arrived unannounced” at her makeup trailer while she was “topless and having body makeup removed by makeup artists.”
Though she asked they meet when she was clothed, Heath allegedly persisted. She let him in “but asked that Mr. Heath keep his back turned,” which she said he did not do as she noticed him “staring directly at her while she was topless.”
Such misconduct allegedly continued, as Lively recalled the “shocking lack of boundaries” exhibited by the pair when they repeatedly entered the actress’s trailer “uninvited” while she was undressed or “vulnerable” and breastfeeding her infant child.
In a scene where Lively’s character Lily gives birth, they also “suddenly pressured Ms. Lively to simulate full nudity, despite no mention of nudity for this scene in the script, her contract, or in previous creative discussions,” the complaint alleged.
Lively allegedly set up protections against Heath and Baldoni while filming
To address her concerns, Lively laid out a list of 30 protections in a January 2024 meeting with producers of the film.
Two of the protections included were “no more improvising of kissing” and “no more personal, physical touching of, or sexual comments by, Mr Baldoni or Mr Heath to be tolerated by [Blake Lively] and/or any of her employees, as well as any female cast or crew without their express consent.”
Freedman, Baldoni’s lawyer, denied the accusations in a statement to PEOPLE, alleging that Lively caused issues during the filming of the movie by “threatening to not show up to set, threatening to not promote the film, ultimately leading to its demise during release.”
