Adam Hadwin has had the support of his wife, Jessica Hadwin, on and off the golf course throughout his career.
In 2014, Jessica and Adam — who is featured on season 3 of Netflix’s Full Swing — both swiped right on each others’ dating profiles while he was in town for a nearby golf tournament. Their first date went off without a hitch, and they tied the knot in 2017 — the same year Adam won his first PGA Tour and scored his first-ever invite to the Masters.
Jessica and Adam became parents for the first time three years later in January 2020, when they welcomed their daughter Maddox Hadwin. Through The Hadwin Family Foundation, their philanthropy that benefits those struggling to have children, the couple have openly shared their struggles with infertility and pregnancy loss, both of which they experienced before beginning in vitro fertilization (IVF).
“You always expect everything to go smoothly. When you become a statistic, then you start to realize where we were in our life and our age of how difficult it can be,” Adam said in a video shared on the PGA Tour’s Facebook page in January 2024.
Of raising their daughter, Jessica added, “Maddox is genuinely the most full-of-life child I’ve ever met. She is extremely outgoing, social, life of the party.”
So who is Adam Hadwin’s wife? Here is everything to know about Jessica Hadwin and her relationship with the pro golfer.
She is a nurse practitioner

Jessica was born and raised in Wichita, Kan., and first broke into the medical field as a pharmacy technician, before going on to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner, per her bio on The Hadwin Family Foundation’s website.
She met Adam on a dating app

The couple first crossed paths in Jessica’s hometown of Wichita in 2014. Adam was playing in a local golf tournament and had swiped right on Jessica’s profile on Tinder.
However, the pair kept the details of how they met under wraps for several years.
“Jess and I have always said that we met in Wichita when I was playing an event, and we kind of just left it at that,” Adam said in a July 2017 Golf.com interview. “Then we had to bring up how, and of course you bring it up now but, it is the truth. We were Tinder-matched in Wichita there, and we went out once when I was there that week, had dinner.”
They got engaged in May 2016

After two years of dating, Adam proposed to Jessica during a game of hangman.
“I had no intention of doing it, but when we started playing hangman I thought, ‘You know what? This might be a perfect opportunity,’ ” Adam recalled to Golfweek.
It had been several months since Adam picked out the perfect ring, but the opportunity to get down on one knee had yet to present itself. Then, while in Fort Worth, Texas, for the Dean and DeLuca Invitational in May 2016, the pair challenged each other to hangman on a hotel pad of paper. That’s when Adam hatched the idea to spell out “Will you marry me?” during Jessica’s next turn.
“I just said, ‘Screw it. I’m not going to waste any more time,’ ” said Adam. By the time Jessica correctly guessed the phrase, he was on his knee presenting the ring.
They got married in March 2017

Adam married Jessica on March 24, 2017, in an intimate sunset ceremony in Scottsdale, Ariz.
It was a big — and busy! — month for the couple. Not only did they get married, but they also became first-time homeowners and celebrated Adam’s first-ever PGA Tour win, all within a time span of two weeks.
By happenstance, their wedding took place on the heels of Adam’s invitation to the 2017 Masters, but they found a way to enjoy the big life moments in stride.
“It was nice, because you’re always hoping that the win didn’t overshadow the big day, that would be something the guests are focused on, but I don’t think anyone focused on golf,” Jessica said of their nuptials in a joint interview with PGATour.com in July 2017. “It was on us and the wedding and it was exactly how I hoped it would be.”
They share a daughter

Jessica and Adam welcomed their daughter, Maddox Hadwin, on Jan. 8, 2020.
In honor of National Infertility Awareness Week in April 2024, Jessica shared her experience with infertility, pregnancy loss and IVF.
“I remember being very upset probably the first month that I didn’t have a positive pregnancy test,” she recalled in a video for their family foundation. “I think it was a good precursor for me to realize that it wasn’t going to just go my way right away and that things were probably going to be a little different than I thought.”
Between April 2018 and June 2018, Jessica had two pregnancy losses. The pair took a break from trying to conceive after Jessica told Adam, “My mental health is just shot.” In 2019, they began IVF and got pregnant with Maddox.
“I was really happy to see the lab result [saying it’s going to be a] girl, because I just felt, ‘OK, like, I was meant to have a girl,’ ” Jessica said, adding that both prior pregnancies had also been girls.
“We’re still so grateful it turned out the way it did.”
They established their own foundation

The couple launched The Hadwin Family Foundation in 2020.
Speaking with British Columbia Golf in 2021, Adam candidly opened up about the role IVF played in their journey to becoming parents. The financial privilege of being able to do so is not lost on them either, he added. After going through the experience themselves, the pair felt called to help other growing families.
“Going through what we did to have our daughter left both of us very thankful we had the resources to do IVF and not have to worry about it,” Adam shared.
He continued, “This foundation was formed because of that experience, the experience of building a family and having a family using non-traditional methods … There are a lot of people who go through this and it can be very burdensome financially and emotionally. That is a big reason why we ended up starting the foundation.”
Adam offloaded all the credit to Jessica, who he said is “the mastermind behind everything.”
“She has been incredible in getting everything set up. We have done it all on our own — I should say she,” he added.
