Patrick Clancy opened up about the deaths of his three children and his life since the tragedy in a new interview with ‘60 Minutes’

Patrick Clancy’s wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, recalled the moment she first learned about the three children he shared with his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy.
During an interview with 60 Minutes, Danis said she and Patrick were getting coffee when she saw a photo of his deceased children, Cora, Dawson and Callan, on his phone.
“I said, ‘Who are those cuties?’ “ she recalled.
After Patrick told her they were his children, Danis asked if they lived in Massachusetts. “And he said, ‘They died,’ “ she recalled.
Danis said she has since learned how to support Patrick as he continues to grieve his children. “I know I can’t fix — I can’t bring his kids back,” she said.
The couple, who married in April, also confirmed during the interview that they are expecting their first child together. Asked whether they were “starting a family,” Patrick responded, “Yes.”
In a previously released clip from the interview, Patrick said he still talks to his deceased kids.
“I ask them for help, all the time,” he said.
Danis, who lives with Patrick in New York City, also revealed that the couple met while running in Central Park.
Lindsay’s high-profile murder trial featured Patrick as a key witness. He spent more than a day on the stand testifying about his slain children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan.
Patrick discovered his children had been strangled with exercise bands in January 2023 after returning home from an errand on which Lindsay had sent him.
Initially discovering Lindsay seriously injured in the backyard after an apparent suicide attempt, Patrick called 911 and entered their Duxbury, Mass., home while still on the phone with a dispatcher. He found the children in the basement.
Lindsay does not deny that she killed her children before jumping out of a second-story window.
Charged with murder, Lindsay has pleaded not guilty by lack of criminal responsibility.
Lindsay’s attorney, Kevin Reddington, argued during the trial that his client was suffering from postpartum psychosis when she killed the children and had been previously been failed by medical providers whom she’d sought out for help.

The trial ended in a mistrial after jurors told Judge William Sullivan they were unable to reach a unanimous verdict.
Following the mistrial ruling, some jurors have come forward and indicated that the jury was split 11-1 in favor of acquittal by lack of criminal responsibility.
A follow-up court date has been scheduled for Sept. 29.
