Whitney Leavitt is setting the record straight about her relationship with Jen Affleck.
Rumors have swirled for months about the status of the friendship between the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars after the pair competed against each other in the 34th season of Dancing with the Stars.
In the fourth season of Mormon Wives, which started streaming on March 12, fans get a behind-the-scenes look at Leavitt and Affleck’s work for the reality TV show. Though Leavitt calls their relationship “great” in an early episode, she later appears hurt when she learns that Affleck didn’t immediately congratulate her for booking her Broadway debut in Chicago.
"To be honest, I have been hesitant to get close to her because I feel like her being nice to me on Dancing with the Stars is transactional,” Affleck says in a confessional. “I do think at the end of the day, Whitney only cares about Whitney, and you can't tell me otherwise."

The pair later have a heated confrontation, where Whitney admits that she was hurt by Affleck’s behavior. During the interaction, Affleck says she doesn’t believe they have a “genuine friendship,” and Leavitt says that Affleck is being “manipulative” and had not “been there” for her.
Speaking to PEOPLE ahead of the release of the latest Mormon Wives season, Leavitt said that “things are definitely cordial” between the two members of MomTok.
“I wouldn’t say that there’s a huge friendship there, but we definitely — we work together, we’re in this experience together,” continues the reality TV star.
Last month, Leavitt slyly addressed her strained relationship with Leavitt while appearing on an episode of Ziwe Fumudoh's satirical YouTube show You'd Be an Iconic Guest, where she was asked to rank the rest of the Mormon Wives cast members in order of "ones you hate to the ones you hate more.”
Though Leavitt prefaced her response by saying she doesn’t hate any of her costars, she named Affleck last on her list.
"Jen you hate the most," Ziwe responded after Leavitt gave her answer.
"Not hate, just not as close to," Leavitt said with a laugh.

"Is it because she was sort of salty about being kicked off of Dancing with the Stars before you?" replied the YouTube show host.
"There's a lot of story there that we're still trying to uncover currently," Leavitt said.
Affleck also previously shared through a confessional in the third season of Mormon Wives, which was released in November, that she was “conflicted” about her relationship with Leavitt because she “never heard” from her after Affleck temporarily stepped away from MomTok.
She said that Leavitt’s close relationship with Demi Engemann — widely considered to be a villain of the show’s second season — was difficult for her, claiming that Engemann was “bullying” her “during that time.”
