After revealing her deepest, darkest secret to her fiancé and friends, Zendaya’s character, Emma, and Robert’s Charlie struggle with their wedding plans. Awkwardness and estrangement plague the couple, and Charlie has second thoughts about marrying Emma.
To make matters worse, Charlie cheats on Emma with his co-worker, Misha, whom he asks for advice about his predicament with Emma. He kisses Misha and, as things start to escalate, Charlie breaks the kiss.
At the wedding, Emma’s maid of honor, Rachel, delivers a speech oozing with passive aggression since she knows the big secret. Misha also tells Emma that Charlie kissed her, and Misha’s boyfriend, Blake, attacks Charlie.
Emma leaves the wedding and ignores Charlie’s calls, but the pair reunite at their favorite diner. As if meeting for the first time, Charlie and Emma reintroduce themselves and start over.

As viewers saw in the trailer, Zendaya’s character, Emma, is hiding a big secret. While having drinks with their maid of honor, Rachel, and best man, Mike, one evening, the group reveals their most shocking secrets to one another.
Emma’s secret is that she planned a mass shooting when she was a teenager but gave up on the idea after witnessing how another school shooting traumatized her community. As a result, Emma advocated for gun control. The revelation stuns the group, especially Rachel, whose cousin was paralyzed in a shooting.
