Vince Gilligan’s latest series, Pluribus, has brought a fresh twist to the post-apocalyptic genre. The Apple TV+ drama centers on a lone woman resisting assimilation after an alien virus merges most of humanity into a hive mind. With weekly episode drops, unsettling world-building, and growing curiosity around its Latin-inspired title, the show has quickly become one of 2025’s most talked-about premieres.

Below, learn how to watch Pluribus, what the title really means, how many episodes are in Season 1, and whether a second season is on the way.

How to Watch Pluribus

Pluribus is available exclusively on Apple TV+, where the series premiered in November 2025. Viewers can stream the show with an active subscription, and new episodes from Season 1 have been rolling out weekly. Apple TV+ also offers a free trial for new users, making it easy to start the series and catch up on the latest episodes.

What Does ‘Pluribus’ Mean?

The title Pluribus draws from the Latin phrase e pluribus unum — “out of many, one.” It connects directly to the show’s central concept: a mysterious alien virus that fuses most of humanity into a shared hive mind known as “the Others.”

While nearly everyone becomes part of this collective consciousness, the protagonist Carol Sturka (played by Rhea Seehorn) remains separate. The title underscores the series’ larger themes of individuality, unity, and the tension between selfhood and collective identity.

How Many Episodes Are in Season 1 of Pluribus?

Season 1 of Pluribus contains nine episodes, rolling out weekly on Apple TV+ from November 7 through December 26, 2025.

The season opened with a two-episode premiere and has continued with weekly installments that follow Carol’s journey as one of the few humans left unabsorbed by the Others.

Will There Be a Season 2 of Pluribus?

Yes — Pluribus has already been renewed for Season 2. Apple confirmed the renewal shortly after the show’s launch, signaling strong confidence in Gilligan’s post-apocalyptic vision.

While a release window has not yet been announced, Gilligan has expressed interest in expanding the story over multiple seasons, suggesting that Carol’s fight for humanity — and her relationship to the hive mind — will continue to evolve in future episodes.
