Valerie Bertinelli is celebrating the launch of her new book — and no one is prouder than her son.
Wolfgang, whose father is late Van Halen frontman Eddie Van Halen, secretly filmed a video to surprise his mom on the Tuesday, March 10, episode of The Drew Barrymore Show.
Before playing the clip, host Drew Barrymore praised the “consistent love” Bertinelli has shown when speaking about her musician son.
“Well, just wait till you meet him,” Bertinelli responded.
The recorded message then showed Wolfgang, 34, onscreen addressing his mom.
“Just wanted to say, congratulations on the book launch on, Valerie's Place, on the website. You're doing so much you're so busy and I'm so proud of you and I love you so very much,” he said.

In addition to releasing her new memoir Getting Naked, the celebrity chef recently launched Valerie’s Place, a digital platform that includes a library of fan-favorite content along with original programming.
“You're probably crying right now,” Wolfgang went on, adding, “So I'm sorry for making you cry.”
“I hope it's happy tears, it probably is, but yeah, that's all. I love you. I'm very proud to be your son,” he said.
Bertinelli, 65, was visibly emotional over the sweet surprise.
“I can't believe he did that,” she admitted. “He's so private. Oh my God … He just lights up my life. I just adore him. I'm so proud to be his mother.”

“I'm just so happy that he found his person,” Bertinelli added, referring to her daughter-in-law Andraia Allsop, whom he married in October 2023.
Bertinelli also opened up about Getting Naked in PEOPLE’s latest cover story, calling her decision to pose nude for the cover “my stupid bright idea” while admitting she had fun doing it.
“Because getting naked emotionally was the most important part of the book, I thought 'Well, I might as well expose myself there too,'” the star said.
“Part of me also feels like at this age, if I can look good, do it,” she laughed. “And I don’t know what I’m going to look like when I’m 80 but at 65 it looks pretty f—ing good. I think you’re allowed to feel good about yourself. I have felt bad about myself for too many decades. I’m going to feel good about myself now.”
