Tori Amos is headed on another literary adventure!
The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, 63, will publish a new children’s book next year. PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the cover of A Sorta Fairytale, which hits shelves from Penguin Workshop, an imprint of Penguin Random House.
Named after her song of the same name from her 2002 album Scarlet’s Walk, A Sorta Fairytale is a companion to Amos’ 2025 children’s book debut, Tori and the Muses.

In the new book, young Tori must work alongside her animal friends in The Emerald Forest to save the town from the evil Mr. Bad Man.
“With a little touch of magic and a lot of teamwork, the Muses and Friends of the Emerald Forest get to work building a very special pink piano that will let Tori’s music soar and allow Rose Dover to shine once more,” the synopsis teases.
Amos knew that there was more in store for the magical world she created in her debut. The singer also reunited with illustrator Demelsa Haughton for the project.

“After I finished Tori and the Muses, I knew there were still stories calling to me, especially from the creatures who helped shape that world,” Amos said in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “Stepping deeper into Rose Dover and into the Emerald Forest, I discovered all the stories it held.”

“And working with Demelsa Haughton again, watching her bring this world to life through her exquisite illustrations, was endlessly inspiring,” the musician and author continued. “And of course, every journey into an enchanted land needs a good faerie, so having Francesco Sedita on my shoulder made the whole adventure that much more fun.”
Sedita, president and publisher of Penguin Workshop, also teases what readers can expect from the new book.
“Getting to revisit the magical world of Tori and the Muses has been more fun than I can describe,” said Sedita. “Watching Tori create this environment, and craft the magic that happens within it, is nothing short of wonderful. I’m excited for her fans to return to this world and experience the next part of Tori’s fairytale.”
