A team of professional snake catchers in Australia recently interrupted a python’s lunch.
On March 10, Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 shared a video on Facebook of a recent unusual relocation job. The clip features a “massive snake with a massive belly,” the video’s caption promises.
In the footage, a large coastal carpet python rests on a mechanic shop’s floor. The snake catcher filming the encounter approaches the python with a large lump in its midsection.
“What do we got here?” the snake catcher asks the reptile as he nears.
According to the caption of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers’ post about the job, the python was digesting a big meal.
“This beautiful coastal carpet python was found inside a mechanic shop digesting a large food item; for the safety of the snake and the workers, the snake was relocated back into the bush to finish digesting its well-deserved meal!” the professional snake-catching service wrote in the caption.

In the video, the snake catcher notes the python has “quite the large food item on board” and posits that the item is a local possum.
The clip ends with the python, still working on its meal, being released “into the middle of the bush,” which is covered in lush grass, to enjoy some privacy. The snake slithers off to pick somewhere to “sleep off that big snack.”
In February, a different snake-catching service in Australia, Snake Catcher Dan, spent over an hour searching a family’s couch to reach a venomous snake that had wriggled inside.
“I received a call from one of my followers about a red-bellied black snake that was hiding under the couch in his living room,” Snake Catcher Dan wrote on Facebook, noting that red-bellied black snakes are “highly venomous.”
The snake catcher’s patience paid off, and eventually, the professional located the snake and safely removed the reptile.
