Sandra Bullock has a lifelong friend in Jennifer Aniston.
In a conversation for Interview Magazine, Bullock, 62, spoke to her pal about returning to the spotlight with Practical Magic 2 and navigating a public life in Hollywood.
“There’s a version of Sandra Bullock that belongs to the public and a version that belongs to you. How do you protect the one that belongs to you?” asked Aniston, 57.
“You know, because you’re one of my protectors,” responded the Oscar winner. “I’ve been insanely private since I was a little kid. I drove my mother crazy. That’s just inherently who I am.”

Bullock has opened up about her inner circle of private supporters in recent interviews. On Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes’ podcast SmartLess, the mother of two revealed that she confided in her sister Gesine Bullock-Prado, Bateman’s wife, Amanda Anka and Aniston about her late partner Bryan Randall’s amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis years before he died in August 2023 at age 57.

Being a celebrity working on the big screen, she added, “You have situations where people take your privacy and sell it. But I love telling stories and it’s our job to go out there and represent. And once I get out there, I have a blast.”
Bullock also recalled her efforts to maintain her children’s privacy. In 2010, after she filed for divorce from ex-husband Jesse James following his infidelity, the actress hid her then-newborn son, Louis, from paparazzi using a hockey bag.
“You have to operate like the CIA. If you’re surrounded by good people, you’ll be fine,” she told Aniston.
Practical Magic 2, costarring Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, Lee Pace, Joey King and Maisie Williams, is in theaters Thursday, Sept. 10.
