Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed a bill to rename Palm Beach International Airport in Florida after President Donald Trump.
House Bill 919, approved by DeSantis on Monday, March 30, gives the power of naming major commercial service airports to the state of Florida, effective July 1.
Filed in December 2025 and introduced in January, the bill renames the Palm Beach International Airport to the “Donald J. Trump International Airport" pending approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The renaming also depends on the execution of an agreement that grants Palm Beach County the "perpetual and unrestricted right" to use the new name in the airport's branding and related activities.
The Trump Organization filed trademark applications related to the name change as the bill passed the Florida Senate 25-11 in February, WPTV reported.
The Florida Senate's initial recommendation included $2.75 million to help pay for updates related to the name change, after lawmakers had originally sought $5.5 million for the process, according to Politico.

The approval comes after a portion of the main road connecting the airport to Mar-a-Lago was renamed President Donald J. Trump Boulevard in January.
Trump said at the time that he was "tremendously honored" by the gesture.
"That's a very important stretch. A lot of people, a lot of important people — and I don't care if they're important or not, but important and not important people travel on that road. But I love the people of Florida," he said.
"I love the entire Palm Beach area. I've been here for a long time," Trump added.
While Trump has not spoken out about the airport's name change, his son Eric Trump said on X that he was "proud to have played a small role in making this happen."
He also thanked DeSantis, bill sponsor Rep. Meg Weinberger, Attorney General James Uthmeier, and the "overwhelming majority" in the Florida House.
The Republican Party of Florida responded to the name change on X, calling it "a landmark tribute."
Responding to the name change, Florida House Minority Leader Fentrice Driskell (D-Tampa) said in a statement, per Politico, that “Republicans are out of touch when it comes to the real issues impacting Floridians."

"The people of Florida did not ask for this. It’s clear Tallahassee Republicans care more about political stunts than they care about your wallet," the statement continued.
