A group of guests had an unexpected detour on their way to a wedding when police seized their cars and cited them.
The Avon and Somerset Roads Policing Unit in England shared in a news release that they received several calls on Aug. 23 reporting “a number of high-performance supercars being driven dangerously” on the M4 and M5 highways.

Officers located “the convoy” of supercars and ultimately seized several of the vehicles and cited the drivers, according to the release.
“Further enquiries are ongoing to identify other offending vehicles,” the policing unit said.

They said the drivers were en route to a friend’s wedding celebration at the time.
“Wedding bells, horsepower and a convoy… what could possibly go wrong?” police wrote. “Despite the impressive performance of the vehicles, [the drivers] proved that horsepower doesn’t replace common sense.”
“The motorway is not the place for a wedding convoy to become a rolling supercar showcase, putting other road users in danger!” they continued, adding a warning: “Enjoy the cars. Enjoy the wedding. Just don’t make the journey there somebody else’s worst day.”

The Avon and Somerset Roads Policing Unit shared a series of photos of the seized cars at what appeared to be an impounding lot.
According to Road & Track magazine, the vehicles in the convoy included a pair of Audi R8 Spyders, three Lamborghini Huracáns and a Mercedes-AMG G63.
