An Ohio mother accused of injecting fecal matter into her hospitalized child’s IV port has pleaded guilty to child endangerment.
Tiffany M. Le Sueur, 35, entered a guilty plea on the misdemeanor child endangerment charge on Thursday, Aug. 5, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
As part of her sentence, Le Sueur was placed on probation and is scheduled to return to court for a follow-up hearing in April 2027, according to WTVG.
The case stems from allegations that Le Sueur injected fecal matter into her child’s IV port while the child was receiving treatment at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
Le Sueur was arrested on Feb. 9 and charged with child endangerment, including allegations of torture and cruel abuse, according to online jail records previously viewed by PEOPLE.
On Feb. 6, hospital staff reviewing surveillance footage first noticed Le Sueur allegedly injecting a foreign substance into her child’s IV port. As they continued to examine additional recordings, employees said they saw her leave a bathroom holding a cup, then place what appeared to be fecal matter into a syringe before injecting it into the child’s IV line, according to a criminal complaint previously cited by WTVG.
After hospital staff notified authorities about the alleged incident, police said Le Sueur’s future visits to the hospital would be monitored to protect the child’s safety, The Independent reported.

However, two days later, investigators allege Le Sueur again attempted to inject fecal matter into the child’s IV line after surveillance cameras captured her entering a bathroom with a cup before returning and using a syringe on the child, according to a criminal complaint cited by The Independent.
Police said Le Sueur was detained at the hospital while medical staff rushed to treat the child. The child’s condition was not publicly disclosed.
Following her arrest, Le Sueur was ordered to stay away from her child and was prohibited from having unsupervised contact with minors, according to WTVG.
