Chase McWhorter is speaking out following reports about his failure to appear in court.
Earlier this week, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast member made headlines following reports that claimed a warrant was issued for his arrest after he allegedly did not appear in court for a hearing scheduled on Monday, Jan. 26.
The report claimed that McWhorter had a $500 warrant and could potentially be arrested if pulled over. PEOPLE reviewed a court order which stated that a $500 warrant was indeed issued on Jan. 26.
Per court records obtained by PEOPLE, the hearing was related to an incident on Dec. 12, which resulted in McWhorter facing charges for allegedly speeding, driving without a driver’s license and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

McWhorter responded to the reporting about the alleged warrant in the comments section of a TikTok discussing the situation.
“No arrest warrant lol. I rescheduled the 9 am hearing to 1 pm due to sick daughter and Miranda being out of town today,” he wrote.
He also referred to claims that he was out “partying” on the evening before the hearing due to the fact that he posted a video at a nightclub with Marciano Brunette at that time. “That was from Friday night lol,” McWhorter maintained.
Representatives for McWhorter did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Per a court order, a $500 warrant was indeed issued on Jan. 26, however, he later appeared for an arraignment and the warrant was recalled.
Last year, McWhorter — whose ex-wife is Mormon Wives star Miranda McWhorter — was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence after he was arrested on July 4. He spoke out about the incident in a video shared to TikTok five months later, beginning by confirming that the reports of his arrest were indeed true.
“I was pulled over for driving under the influence, had ingested substances that I shouldn’t have, and got behind the wheel of a car, an extremely short-sighted, selfish, dangerous decision,” he said.

McWhorter continued to explain that he was at a pool party with friends and had “planned to be there all day,” but when a fight broke out, he decided he wanted to leave and drive “a few miles” back to his home.
“I should’ve Ubered, but for some reason decided to drive home and that decision alone kills people every single day, so I understand the severity of it,” he continued. “Obviously, it was humiliating having to be pulled over and taken in. Terrible look for me, and I’ve experienced so lows on this app, as you guys know.”
