The American woman believed to have gone overboard while on a boat trip with her husband in the Bahamas this weekend has now been identified, according to local authorities.
Lynette Hooker, from Michigan, was heading from Hope Town to Elbow Cay on the night of Saturday, April 4, in a small dinghy with her husband when she "reportedly fell overboard," the Royal Bahamas Police Force has said.
Hooker was named by the Hope Town Volunteer Fire & Rescue, ABC News, CBS News and NBC affiliate WILX reported. Her age was reported as either 55 or 56.
Her husband said they were en route back to their yacht when she disappeared amid bad weather, officials told the outlets.
"Strong currents subsequently carried her away, and [her husband] lost sight of her," according to police.
They said Hooker's husband "paddled the vessel to shore” and alerted others to what happened early on Sunday, April 5.
An investigation is ongoing; it's not clear if Hooker was wearing a life jacket.
She has not been found.

Arriving back on shore on Sunday, her husband docked at Marsh Harbour Boat Yard, which is located on the next island over from the island which they departed, police said.
Authorities then began a search for Hooker.
Police have appealed to the public to report any information that may assist the investigation. Individuals were encouraged to call 911, 919, their local police station, the Criminal Investigation Department or Crime Stoppers tip line at 328-TIPS (8477).
"I have been privy to very little information," Hooker's daughter, Karli Aylesworth, said in a statement, according to ABC.
"My sole concern is to find out what happened to my mother," Aylesworth said, "and make sure a full and complete investigation is performed into her disappearance."
Hope Town fire officials did not respond to a request for comment from PEOPLE. Hooker's family could not immediately be reached.
