The co-founder of the online fashion retailer ASOS has died after falling from an apartment building in Thailand.

Quentin Griffiths was found dead at the age of 58 after falling from the 17th floor of a condominium located in Pattaya, located on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast on Monday, Feb. 9, according to BBC, Reuters and The Guardian, whom cited the Royal Thai Police.

Royal Thai Police and ASOS did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Griffiths’ death.

Authorities told the BBC he was was found dead outside a luxury hotel where he had been staying as a long-term resident in a suite on the 17th floor.

The British national had been embroiled in two ongoing court cases that may have caused him stress, according to the outlet, Reuters and The Guardian. According to Reuters, documents related to those lawsuits were found in his apartment.

One of the court cases reportedly pertained to a legal dispute with his second wife — a Thai national whom he was separated from — over a business they ran together, per the BBC.

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office in the U.K. said, "We are supporting the family of a British national who has died in Thailand and are in contact with the local authorities."

Griffiths co-founded ASOS in London in 2000 with Andrew Regan, Deborah Thorpe and Nick Robertson, the great-grandson of the suit retailer Austin Reed, per the BBC.

ASOS was initially coined “As Seen On Screen,” as it sold items inspired by movie and TV star clothing on-screen. It eventually switched over to using just the acronym “ASOS” in 2002.

The fashion company would go on to grow into a popular online retailer and a global brand, which was valued over an estimated $8 billion (£6 billion) at one point, per the BBC. The brand has been worn by various celebrities over the years including Rihanna and Bella Hadid.
