Saturday Night Live season 50 continues to bring in the big guns.
On Wednesday, March 19, the late-night sketch comedy series announced its upcoming slate of hosts and musical guests for episodes airing on March 29, April 5 and April 12, and the slate includes one SNL debut — and a return 20 years in the making!
Oscar winner Mikey Madison will make her SNL debut as host of the March 29 show, with country singer Morgan Wallen as the episode’s musical guest.
Wallen, 31, has previously performed once on the show in 2020, an appearance that came two months after he was initially slated to perform but was disinvited for breaking COVID protocols.
He later told PEOPLE that he “should have been more aware” and that the controversy — where he was videotaped kissing several women at the University of Alabama, days before his SNL appearance — led him to realize “what the term ‘superstar’ meant.”

The following week, Jack Black will return as host for the first time since 2005. The actor also hosted the show in 2002, and last appeared as a musical guest in 2006 with Kyle Gass as part of Tenacious D.
Elton John and Brandi Carlile will be the musical guests for that episode airing on April 5, marking only the second time John has appeared on the show and Carlile’s third. John was last on SNL in 2011 when he pulled double duty as host and musical guest, and made his debut on the show in 1982 as musical guest. Meanwhile, Carlile previously performed in 2021 and 2022.
The performance is particularly notable given the 77-year-old’s revelation in November that he’d lost vision in his right eye after an infection, though, he’s had a good sense of humor about it and claimed in January it’s “not as bad as it seems.”
The final show announced is on April 12, which will see Jon Hamm host for the fourth time, nearly 15 years after he last hosted in October 2010. Lizzo will also make her fourth appearance on the show as the musical guest. She previously pulled double duty in April 2022 and performed in 2019 and 2022.

Hamm’s return as host comes after he publicly declared himself indebted to SNL creator Lorne Michaels for opening him up to his comedic side.
“I really credit none other than Lorne Michaels for offering me a [chance to] guest host Saturday Night Live to really get the sense of, well, I do have a funny side to me,” he told reporters of his 2008 SNL debut at his 2025 Hasty Pudding Man of the Year crowning in January.
“Most of the people who knew me before, they knew me for Mad Men, knew that was the predominant side of me. So Lorne gave me that opportunity, which led to 30 Rock, which led to Bridesmaids, which led to a lot of other gigs in the Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Lorne Michaels universe,” Hamm, 54, said. “So I’ll be forever grateful to [Michaels] for that.”
