Michael Strahan couldn’t be happier for his daughter.
While chatting with PEOPLE at Town & Country’s 11th Annual Philanthropy Summit on Tuesday, Oct. 29, the former football pro, 52, shared an update on his daughter Isabella Strahan, who was diagnosed with a large medulloblastoma — a type of malignant tumor — in her cerebellum in October 2023. The 20-year-old recently celebrated the end of her chemotherapy treatment in July.
“She is right back into where she left off, back at school, loving college, loving being around her friends, loving going to class,” Michael tells PEOPLE of the University of Southern California sophomore. “I think it’s given her such a different appreciation of life, especially as a young adult.”
As for what’s next for Isabella, the television host says she’s just excited to get “back in the swing of things” as a college student.

“Next for her is being that college student back in the swing of things, going to football games, going to class, hanging out with her friends, all those things,” he shares.
Michael is also a dad to Sophia Strahan, who’s Isabella’s twin sister. The girls turned 20 years old on Oct. 28, and the proud dad shares with PEOPLE how their family celebrated together.
“She and her twin just turned 20 yesterday. They wanted to go to Disneyland. I’m like, ‘Okay, let’s go to Disneyland,” he says, adding that their trip to the Magic Kingdom felt extra special given their challenges over the past year.

“I think as a father, it’s given me great appreciation for just every day and every moment, and enjoying every moment and being grateful for health, being grateful for family, being grateful that you are close and that you’re there for each other,” Michael says.
He sweetly adds, “She and her sister started arguing again over sweatpants and other stuff, so I know that they’re getting back to normal.”
In August, Isabella posted a selfie on her Instagram Stories alongside her mother Jean Muggli as she returned to school. “Back at USC,” she wrote, smiling and winking at the camera.
The model also posted a video on TikTok dancing and jumping around her new off-campus apartment. “New apartment who this ‼️‼️” she captioned the clip.
