Michael J. Fox Says Wife Tracy Pollan Has ‘The Sweetest Eyes I’ve Ever Seen’ in Throwback Valentine’s Day Post

Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan will be each other’s forever valentines. 

The two actors celebrated their decades-long love with heartfelt Instagram posts on Friday, Feb. 14. In Fox’s post, he penned a sweet tribute to his wife of 36 years.

In the Back to the Future star’s first photo, the pair posed on a sandy beach during the early years of their relationship. 

The 63-year-old actor also added three other throwback images of them throughout the years, including an adorable photo of them cuddling in front of the ocean, while another beachside photo included them posing on a cliff overlooking the ocean. 

The final throwback photo was of the couple smiling for the camera as a smiling Pollan embraced Fox. 

He also included a more recent photo of the couple enjoying the colorful sunset at the beach. The Spin City alum also shared a photo of the couple dressed up in sophisticated black ensembles as they enjoyed dinner together. 

Fox captioned the post: “You have the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen (even in sunglasses), I still get lost in them. Happy Valentine’s day @tracy.pollan Yours forever.”

“❤❤❤,” Pollan, 64, commented.

Pollan also added her own Instagram, and asked Fox to be her Valentine this year. 

The Promised Land actress included photos of the couple enjoying the outdoors together. She included an image of them posing by beachside cliffs, as well as the Amsterdam canals and a beach bungalow.

“Happy Valentine’s Day my love, will you please be mine? ❤️❤️❤️,” she captioned the Friday Instagram. Fox replied in the comments: “Forever and Always! ❤️❤️😍.”

The couple first met in 1985 when they were cast as each other’s love interests on Family Ties. Their relationship remained platonic at the time because they were both dating other people at the time — fellow actors Nancy McKeon and Kevin Bacon, respectively. Then a few years later, sparks flew when Fox and Pollan reunited on-screen in Bright Lights, Big City. 

Within seven months, the pair were engaged. They went on to tie the knot in July 1988 and have since welcomed four children: Esmé, 22, Aquinnah and Schuyler, 29, and Sam, 34. 

In October 2022, the couple chatted with PEOPLE about the secret to their long-lasting love and how they face challenges together, including Fox’s Parkinson’s disease. (Fox was diagnosed at the age of 29 in 1991. He did not go public with his diagnosis for several years.)

“My best life now is I enjoy my family so much,” the Back to the Future star told PEOPLE in October 2022. “Tracy and the kids are amazing. I know that sounds boring, it sounds like a fairy tale, but we’ve been married 30-something years, so we’ve got something figured out.”

Pollan called her husband “one of the most kind people I’ve ever met.” Adding, he “almost always looks at the situation and at the people involved and thinks about others before he thinks about himself.”
