Meghan Markle attended a gala with Tyler Perry — while her husband, Prince Harry, addressed divorce rumors at a separate event on another coast.
The Duchess of Sussex supported the “Madea” actor as he was honored with an award at the 2024 Paley Honors Fall Gala in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Wednesday.
Markle, 43, appeared to be in great spirits while posing for photos by herself before being joined by Perry, 55, and sweetly embracaing him on the red carpet.
The “Suits” alum dazzled in a black Oscar de la Renta strapless gown with a slit down the bottom half.
Markle accessorized her look with a custom Logan Hollowell diamond necklace, a gold Cartier Love bracelet and black open-toed shoes. She wore her hair back in a loose bun.
Meanwhile, Perry — who is a godfather to the royal couple’s daughter, Princess Lilibet — kept it classy in a black patterned tuxedo jacket that he paired with black pants, shiny black shoes and his signature glasses.
The two snapped a few pictures together before heading inside so the movie star could receive the distinctive Paley Honors Award.
Markle walked the carpet on the West Coast just hours after her husband, Harry, dispelled divorce rumors while speaking at the New York Times’ 2024 DealBook conference in New York City.
“Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times,” he said onstage. “We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?’”
The Duke of Sussex, 40, went on to say that he felt “sorry” for internet “trolls” who look for ways to tear down the pair.
“It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it,” he continued. “Their hopes are just built and built, and it’s like, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,’ and then it doesn’t happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do.”
Harry went on to explain that he and his wife have prioritized social media safety with children through their Archewell Foundation because they have experienced the “dangerous” online rumors firsthand.
“I’ve had a lived experience since I was a kid. I’ve seen stories written about myself that aren’t exactly based on reality,” he recalled. “I’ve seen stories about members of my family, friends, strangers, all sorts of people.”
The “Spare” author concluded, “When you grow up within that environment, you do find yourself questioning the validity of the information but also what other people are thinking of that as well and how dangerous it can be over the course of time.”
Harry and Markle’s separate public outings occurred nearly three months after they attended Perry’s star-studded birthday in September.
While the couple have been hitting events separately ever since, they did release a joint video on behalf of their Archewell Foundation last month.
The “Harry & Meghan” stars fled to the United States in 2020 after infamously quitting the royal family. They initially stayed with Perry before buying their own place in Montecito, Calif.
The duo, who tied the knot in May 2018, share son Prince Archie, 5, and daughter Lilibet, 3.
