Although Carey is often draped head-to-toe in designer garments, I’m here to reassure you that my $20 find does a stand-up job at mimicking her look. Similar to the singer’s, this fringed shawl showcases a neutral color scheme of tan, white, and black. It’s also constructed with a partial split down the middle, which makes it easy to drape over your shoulders.

Of all my picks, I believe this one most closely mimics Carey’s shawl. It’s designed in a traditional Andean ruana style, which is like a poncho but with an open front. The light brown and ivory make for an understated plaid pattern and there is lovely fringe detailing around the bottom hem. The ruana is also available in black or green.
Styling Tips
Follow in Carey’s footsteps by wearing your new shawl over a festive dress with tights and knee-high boots. Otherwise, I imagine the cozy layer adding excitement to a more casual ensemble like wide-leg jeans and ballet flats.
