The country singer, 36, recently launched EDITED by Maren Morris, a new apparel collection created in partnership with Sam’s Club and Sunrise Brands.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Morris reveals her go-to, and very relatable, fashion advice as someone who stands just over five feet tall.
“Wear what your body looks good in, and what you know that you look good in,” she says. “Dress with what you feel confident in, and don’t always compare something that someone else is wearing to how you would pull it off, because you could pull something off that a friend maybe wouldn’t feel as confident in. Just be authentic to you.”

Still, Morris admits, “It’s not to say that you can’t challenge yourself and wear something that you wouldn’t normally wear.”
“But I do think that not everything that looks amazing say on a friend of mine that’s 5’10” is going to look the same on me, who has a much more petite, short frame,” she continues.

“I’ve learned so much about how to dress for my body type over the years — what jeans or pants cuts make me look shorter, knowing how to alter something too when you can,” says the “My Church” musician.
“Also, I love to live in heels, so that always makes me feel a little bit more elevated in whatever I’m wearing,” Morris adds with a laugh.

According to Morris, she considers herself “an elevated basics type of fashion girl.”
“I probably have three or four really good pairs of jeans I love, whether vintage or I just put them on and they still fit me perfectly,” the mother of one explains. “I love a pop of color, but I am more of a neutral-toned person when it comes to picking out things.”
Morris credits her stylist, Dani Michelle, with helping her amp up her fashion game from time to time. “I think Dani has taught me a lot about accessorizing and letting that be the thing that makes the outfit pop,” she says.
“It feels great when you just throw pieces on that you know fit well and are made well, and when you can’t tell what year they’re from because they feel timeless, but also different,” adds the Grammy Award winner.
