Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo! A major change to one of Walt Disney World's most iconic attractions appears to be nearing completion.
Cinderella Castle, the iconic centerpiece of the Magic Kingdom Park in Orlando, Fla., already heavily features its new color palette, only weeks after the update to its exterior began earlier this year.
The rose pink color of the castle has now been swapped for more gray and cream hues, mimicking the original look the castle featured when the theme park opened in 1971. (Disney changed the castle's signature color scheme to feature the pink, as well as darker blue roofs and gold trim accents, in 2020, in honor of the 70th anniversary of the release of Cinderella.)
Disney fans have expressed their excitement about the update online. In a Reddit post, one themepark goer wrote, "Wow, it looks great," as another said, "It looks so pretty!!!"
Others, meanwhile, were thrilled by the fast pace of the castle's color scheme update. "Wow, our trip is two weeks from today, and I had already accepted that the castle would not be done by then. What a nice surprise," one person commented.

Inspired by Disney's 1950 animated film, Cinderella Castle has been an iconic part of Walt Disney World's history since the Magic Kingdom first opened decades ago.
Cinderella Castle is also a centerpiece of Tokyo Disneyland at the Tokyo Disney Resort, and other castles featured at Disney theme parks across the globe include Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland in California, Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant at Disneyland Paris, Castle of Magical Dreams at Hong Kong Disneyland and the Enchanted Storybook Castle at Shanghai Disneyland.

During Disney's Destination D23 fan event in 2025, the company announced that the new color palette was coming to Cinderella Castle. PEOPLE later confirmed that the update would kick off right in the new year.
Disney Imagineers teased the update coming to Cinderella Castle during a panel entitled “Beyond the Spires: An Insider Look at Disney Castles." In a Disney Parks Blogs post, a representative for the company said, “The updated paint will feature grays, creams, blues and touches of gold aiming to enhance the castle’s architecture."
The Disney representative also said that Cinderella Castle uses a “timeless color combination” of blues and golds to reflect the Florida sunshine, and that the landmark is designed to be “picture-perfect” no matter the season or perspective. (They added that the paint used for Cinderella Castle undergoes accelerated UV and weather testing to simulate years of sun exposure, to ensure the longevity of the castle’s look.)
