Taylor Dye’s family has grown by one more!
The musician, who is one half of the group Maddie & Tae, and husband Josh Kerr welcomed their second baby together, son Chapel Shields Kerr, on Tuesday, Oct. 29, a rep for Dye tells PEOPLE exclusively.
The little one, who joins big sister Leighton, 2, arrived last month in Nashville, Tenn., weighing 3 lbs., 4.9 oz. and measuring 15 inches long.
“Chapel surprised us on October 29th and we are absolutely in love with our little boy,” Dye shares with PEOPLE. “He is currently thriving in the NICU [neonatal intensive care unit] and his big sister can’t wait to meet him soon.”
They tell PEOPLE that Chapel’s name holds a meaningful significance, as his middle name is also Josh’s dad’s middle name.

“Baby BOY joining us this fall and we couldn’t be more excited 🥹💙,” Dye wrote in her caption.
In January 2022, Dye shared that she’d welcomed her first baby with Kerr three months early.
When they announced the news, both Dye and Kerr shared images of their daughter in a joint Instagram post. In one photo, the proud parents smiled beside their newborn as they showed off how tiny her hands and feet were in other pictures.
“Leighton Grace Kerr, born January 17, 2022 // she’s beautiful, strong and everything we have ever dreamed of,” the duo wrote. “She decided to be a Capricorn like her daddy.”
Baby Leighton was born at 2:42 p.m., weighing 2 lbs., 5 oz. “We already can’t wait for the day we get to finally take her home 💜,” the couple, who tied the knot in Feb. 2020, added.
That March, the musician shared that she was finally able to bring her daughter home after 53 days in the NICU.
