It’s safe to say that Kelly Clarkson is a Chappell Roan fan.
In a Thursday, Jan 16 Kellyoke session, the Kelly Clarkson Show host sang Roan’s “Red Wine Supernova” and did not hold back from hitting the high notes.
“Baby, why don’t you come over?/Red wine supernova, falling into me,” Clarkson, 42, crooned during the chorus. She and her band Y’all maintained the upbeat vibes of Roan’s song and was all smiles during the catchy bridge.
Fans loved Clarkson’s rendition of the song on YouTube. “I love how excited Kelly and the band to play this song!” one wrote.
“This also confirms that Chappell is definitely ‘your favorite artist’s favorite artist,'” one fan added.
“By 2025 end she’s going to have done Chappell’s entire back catalogue on Kellyoke, released a ‘Clarkson sings Chappell’ covers album and possibly asked for Chappells hand in marriage,” a third joked. “I’m here for ALL OF IT 💖.”

Roan released “Red Wine Supernova” in 2023 as a single from her Grammy-nominated album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.
“I needed a campy gay girl song that captured the magic of having feelings for another girl,” she told Flood Magazine about the upbeat song “I packed the song with fun raunchy lyrics that make it feel like a night out flirting with the girl across the bar!”
Clarkson previously covered “Good Luck, Babe!” another popular song by Roan, 26, with Miranda Lambert. The singers joined forces for the power ballad and were accompanied by an acoustic guitar.
Before harmonizing, the American Idol winner said: “I hope she thinks we’re cool too. We love you!” referring to Roan.
“Good Luck, Babe!” is nominated for song of the year, record of the year and best pop solo performance, while Roan is also nominated for best new artist.
