Keke Palmer gets by with a little help from her mom friends.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the actress, 33, opens up about being part of a friend group of fellow moms who do activities together and provide parenting advice to one another.
“I love being a mom and my little mom group. We are like thick as thieves, and they’re amazing women,” Palmer, who is a parent to child Leodis “Leo” Andrellton Jackson, says. “I met them when I put my son into his first school, and they embraced us.”
“They’ve been moms longer than I have — most of them have two kids, and their kids are older — so they have been in the game for a while, and with me being a single mom, they just immediately went all hands on deck and were like, ‘[We’re here for] whatever you need,’ “ she continues.
Adds the Emmy Award-winning star: “That’s what true friends are. It’s been a real blessing in my life to meet those girls, honestly.”

According to Palmer — who has partnered with Sanofi to promote Beyfortus ahead of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) season — “We’ve always got a plan.”
“We play pickleball together, we work out together, we get the kids together,” she continues. “We’re even going to see Oprah soon. We’re so tied up, it’s just crazy. It’s a whole new life.”

As for what else the women have done for her since they bonded? Palmer tells PEOPLE with a laugh, “They done got me into a country club.”
“I literally feel like I’m in The ‘Burbs, my TV show,” she playfully adds, referring to her comedy-mystery on Peacock, which is a remake of the classic 1989 movie with Tom Hanks.
“My life has gone so meta. It’s almost ridiculous,” Palmer jokes.
