Kaia Gerber Says She Grew Up with Nude Photos of Mom Cindy Crawford Hanging on the Walls

Kaia Gerber is getting candid about growing up with a supermodel mom.

Speaking in a new interview for Harper’s Bazaar’s February 2026 issue cover, published Wednesday, Jan. 21, the model, 24, revealed that she used to see nude photos of her mother Cindy Crawford, 58, hanging on the walls as a child.

Kaia went on to explain that she found the photos empowering growing up.

“They were, to me, artistic,” she said. “It wasn’t vulgar; it wasn’t objectification.” 

Kaia added that seeing the snaps was “a gift to grow up in a house that was without shame for the female body.”

Speaking more about her childhood, Kaia said her early years were “pretty isolated” in “a really great way,” adding that it was “as normal as it could have been.”

“I always went to public school. I did theater. I did every community play. I was in choir. I did singing recitals. I danced,” she said. 

Kaia revealed she loved going to Broadway shows in New York, telling Harper’s Bazaar, “I saw Wicked eight times. I had all the lyrics to Rent memorized by the time I was nine years old.”

The cover star also opened up about how she and her brother, Presley Walker, 26, experienced different perceptions of their childhood despite growing up together.

“It’s so interesting to articulate your own childhood, because I have a brother who’s two years older, and our memories are completely contradictory, which is really fascinating and I think has taught me so much about how multiple realities can exist at once,” she said.

Kaia and Presley are the only children of Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, 63.

The star’s comments about her childhood come after she was spotted on the set of Ryan Murphy’s new show The Shards looking just like her mother in November.

Kaia was seen on set with costar Homer Gere, 25, the son of Crawford’s ex-husband, Richard Gere, to whom she was married from 1991 to 1995.
