Jessica Simpson is showing out as she prepares to release new songs.
The pop star, 44, shared a sexy new image of herself to her Instagram Story Monday, Dec. 16. In the photo, the “Sweetest Sin” singer stared directly into the camera in a bold and daring outfit.
Sitting in a chair inside a recording studio, Simpson wore a black fishnet bodysuit with intricate cutouts.
Over the risqué romper was a light-colored satin crop top and mini skirt set.

She added a black blazer and black cowgirl boots for an extra bit of drama, and went with a smokey eye and nude lip for her glam, which may remind some of ’60s icon Brigitte Bardot.
Simpson’s signature blonde hair was styled in a bone-straight blowout, and pinned for added volume at the top.
“I can’t wait for y’all to hear the soundtrack of my soul,” she wrote on top of the image, adding a single CD emoji to the text.
Her last original studio album, Do You Know, was released in 2008. However, in recent months, she’s been hinting at her return.

“This comeback is personal, it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve 🎶 🎼 🤍🖤,” the “Take My Breath Away” singer captioned a Nov. 11 Instagram carousel.
Once again, the photos showed Simpson giving sultry vibes while inside a recording studio.
Each image saw her seated in a chair, doing different poses (and showing lots of leg) while wearing a white dress. She added contrast by pairing the garment with a shaggy black jacket and black latex over-the-knee boots.
Just one month prior, Simpson spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about how her eponymous brand’s fall/holiday 2024 clothing and shoe cowgirl-glam collection was helping her to get “into character” for her long-awaited return to music.

“There’s a rock and roll western vibe that runs through the pieces of this collection,” she said in the interview, published on Sept. 24. “It is a celebration of how different forms of artistic expressions are woven together.”
She added, “If I dress the part of what I am feeling artistically I am better able to express myself in the words and music I am writing.”

For Simpson, that includes “lots of fringe, lots of turquoise, high heels and lots of slip dresses, short and long!”
“I kind of created my own style based on the songs I am singin’.”
Just a teen when she burst into the music business, the “Irresistible” singer has since released seven studio albums: 1999’s Sweet Kisses, 2001’s Irresistible, 2003’s In This Skin, 2004’s ReJoyce: The Christmas Album, 2006’s A Public Affair, 2008’s Do You Know and 2010’s Happy Christmas.
