Jeremy Renner’s breakout role came in 2009 with Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker, which earned him widespread acclaim and his first Academy Award nomination. He followed it with another praised performance in The Town (2010), further cementing his reputation as one of Hollywood’s most versatile leading men.

In 2011, Renner’s career reached new heights when he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making an uncredited cameo as Hawkeye in Thor before fully taking on the role in The Avengers (2012). That same year, he also joined another blockbuster franchise, starring in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol alongside Tom Cruise, and returned for Rogue Nation in 2015.

Renner’s momentum was briefly halted in January 2023 after a near-fatal snowplow accident that left him with critical injuries. His recovery, documented in his 2025 memoir My Next Breath, became an inspiring story of resilience and determination. Now fully recovered, Renner has returned to acting—reprising his role as Mike McLusky in Mayor of Kingstown Season 4.
