PEOPLE Editor-in-Chief and General Manager Charlotte Triggs takes you inside the A-list-packed party hosted by the Motion Picture & Television Fund
The night before the Oscars, Hollywood comes together—not just to celebrate the nominees, but for an important cause.
PEOPLE was honored to partner with Novartis’ “Your Attention, Please” campaign as a presenting sponsor at the MPTF’s 24th Annual Night Before the Oscars Party. The event raises money for the Motion Picture Television Fund, a charitable organization that supports working and retired members of the entertainment community with a safety net of health and social services, including temporary financial assistance during times of need. The entertainment community are our friends and neighbors and we were so honored to be able to support the cause.

Event chairs Kate Hudson, nominated for Best Actress for her role in Song Sung Blue, and Michael B. Jordan, nominated for Best Actor for his role in Sinners, were joined by, well, basically everybody we are seeing at the Oscars.
The A-list guest list included One Battle After Another stars Teyana Taylor, Chase Infiniti and Regina Hall, Sinners’ Wunmi Mosaku and Delroy Lindo, plus Stellan Skarsgård, as well as Jacob Elordi, Ali Larter, Anne Hathaway, Christopher Nolan, Colman Domingo, Dove Cameron, Jon Hamm, and many more.

I was delighted to meet the cast of F1, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon (below) and Damson Idris (top, with Janine and me), who told PEOPLE editor at large Janine Rubenstein about his new line of fine jewelry Didris, inspired by his mother—then sent over a set of diamond and emerald jewels for her to wear while hosting the red carpet pre-show the next day!

Patrick Gomez, editor in chief of PEOPLE’s sister brand Entertainment Weekly, spent time chatting with Hamnet director Chloé Zhao. PEOPLE's executive director of entertainment Melody Chiu introduced me to the delightful Rita Wilson, who told us all about her recent trip to Australia, where she got to take part in Bad Bunny’s concert on stage!

Inside the party, guests took in a surprise performance of “Pale, Pale Moon” from Best Picture nominated film Sinners. And stars stopped by PEOPLE and Novartis’ glam-bot booth, where they shot sexy slo-mo glam shots in support of “Your Attention, Please,” which aims to get women to prioritize getting their breast cancer screenings done early and often.
Thank you to Novartis’ “Your Attention, Please” campaign for your partnership, and cheers to another amazing MPTF!
