At 32 years old, I’m always looking for ways to add a touch of nostalgia and whimsy to my life. A huge part of that is honoring my inner child and leaning into things that bring me joy, and collecting Jellycat plushies is high on my list.
I bought my first Jellycat roughly three years ago, and I’ve been building out my lineup ever since. In all honesty, I didn’t realize the pandemonium surrounding the brand’s small, smiley-face-clad plushie pals, but I get it now. I have a wide variety — over 20 to be exact — of its limited-edition (and oftentimes hard-to-get) drops, including the Strutton Pigeon, Amuseables Ravioli, and pickle bag charm, to name a few.
After attending a launch event for Jellycat’s space-themed collection earlier this year, I fell in love with one plushie in particular, the Amuseables Peanut. I currently own the classic bag charm and am now the proud owner of its latest autumn iteration: the Amuseables Peanut ‘Cat.’

The brand’s newest drop includes tons of fall-themed friends, and I own multiple, in addition to the peanut cat. My current roster consists of the Rufferty Puppy ‘Wizard,’ Amuseables Garlic, and Ooky Jack O Lantern, plus a wide variety of bag charms and plushies from previous launches.
Aside from being a collector, I love putting them on display in different areas of what my friends and I call my ‘Carrie Bradshaw apartment’ for a pop of fun. The new peanut cat is a great size at 5.9 inches tall and 2.8 inches wide, making it an adorable addition to my windowsill. If you’re looking to grab one, it’s also tiny enough to place on a desk, TV console, or kitchen counter. Plus, it makes a cute gift; take it from one shopper who said it “makes me smile every time I look at it.”
From my own experience, new Jellycat styles sell out fast, so be sure to grab the peanut cat while it’s still available, and pick up some of my other favorites below, too.
