Dove's new alcohol-free Whole Body Deo kept me fresh and feeling my best as I danced the night away at music’s biggest night

For more than a decade, the Grammy Awards lived on my laptop screen.
I spent years working the show from my desk on the East Coast, watching the performances, refreshing social media feeds and slacking coworkers about jaw-dropping red carpet looks and surprise wins. So when I finally found myself in L.A., prepping to attend the Grammys in person for the very first time as a guest of Dove, it felt surreal in a way that didn’t fully hit until I was already in a robe, staring at a pop-up spray tan tent in my hotel room.
I had exactly 24 hours to transform from jet-lagged mom to Grammys-ready, and I fully committed. Sugar + Bronzed delivered a flawless spray tan, Glam Squad handled hair and makeup (shoutout Lauren Sellers and Rach Domingo-Abano), and for the first time in a long time, I felt truly excited about getting dressed up just for me.
And then I realized I forgot my perfume. (Classic!)
Normally, that would’ve sent me spiraling. But this night? It didn’t matter. Because luckily Dove’s new Alcohol-Free Whole Body Deo showed up harder than a luxury fragrance.

I went with the Coconut Vanilla scent (my personal favorite), and it instantly felt less like a deodorant and more like a body mist — light, fresh and genuinely comforting on my skin. The new alcohol-free formula is dermatologist-tested and made for all-over use. No sting. No tightness. Just that clean feeling that lasted from red carpet arrival through the very last note of the night. It also doesn't transfer on to clothes, is quick-drying and leaves behind zero residue, all things I look for in a deodorant.
To be clear: the Grammys are not a sit-still and chill event. The 3.5-hour broadcast is basically the biggest, best concert you’ve ever been to, and I was dancing the entire time. Somehow, miraculously, I didn’t sweat through my long-sleeve ROTATE sequin dress—including during Justin Bieber’s very sexy, very stripped-down performance of “Yukon.” If that’s not a real-world stress test, I don’t know what is.

Adding to the magic? I had an amazing seat inside the arena thanks to Dove Hot Seats. The program is all about opening doors to music moments that usually feel out of reach by giving fans unprecedented access to shows and experiences they’d normally only see online. Sitting there, so close to all the action, was a pinch me career moment.
Which is exactly why Dove’s new spot that aired during the Grammys felt so right.
The brand’s latest campaign, Hot Like Us, brought full-on Y2K nostalgia to the screen with a high-energy remix of The Pussycat Dolls 2005 mega hit “Don’t Cha” and the same message of empowerment Dove has always stood for.
Watching that spot while literally living my own “hot like us” moment in the crowd, felt like a full-circle reminder: confidence doesn’t come from looking flawless in photos. It comes from feeling comfortable in your own skin.

So no, the MVP of my Grammys glam wasn’t my makeup. It wasn’t my dress. It wasn’t even my hair holding up through hours of dancing. (Although, I’m so grateful for all of those too.) It was the one thing that let me forget about all of it and just be fully present for the night I’d waited over a decade to experience.
