NEED TO KNOW

  • Gaten Matarazzo is spoofing Timothée Chalamet in a promo clip for his upcoming film, Pizza Movie
  • The Stranger Things star appeared in a remake a Chalamet’s Marty Supreme promo video to announce his own comedy
  • In the clip, Matarazzo and costar Sean Giambrone also poke fun at Chalamet’s comments on ballet and opera

Gaten Matarazzo is putting his own twist on Timothée Chalamet's Marty Supreme promo video.

On Thursday, March 26, the 23-year-old Stranger Things alum shared a joint post to Instagram in which he and his Pizza Movie costar Sean Giambrone announced the upcoming Hulu film in a way that’s got the internet buzzing.

“Pizza Movie is an American film that comes out on April 3, 2026,” Matarazzo said to the camera while standing outdoors and yelling at the top of his lungs as the frame widened.

“It’s on Hulu, streaming!” Giambrone, 26, said equally as loud, popping up from below to be included in the shot. “It’s not in the theaters, we wanted it to be in the theaters, but they said ‘No!’”

Pizza Movie, which also stars Daniel Radcliffe, is a comedy about two high college friends who go on a surreal and unexpected journey while simply trying to navigate two flights of stairs to get their pizza order.

To hype up the film's impending arrival, Matarazzo started cheering and Giambrone followed his lead. By this time, the camera shot was wide enough to see the costars standing on a picnic table in a park.

Matarazzo screamed, and Giambrone yelled, “Screaming!” as the shot continued to widen and show more of their background.

The clip heavily resembles a video posted by Chalamet on Dec. 22, 2025 to promote his then-upcoming film Marty Supreme. The promo video featured the Dune star standing outdoors, yelling at the camera, “Marty Supreme is an American film that comes out on Christmas Day 2025!”

Toward the end of their take on Chalamet's video, Matarazzo and Giambrone made a tongue-in-cheek jab at Chalamet's recent controversy surrounding comments he made about the popularity of ballet and opera.

“By the way, we want to be clear that we love the ballet and we love the opera!” one of the actors yelled as a post-script after a graphic for Pizza Movie appeared on the screen.

“Why are they tryna copy timothee chalamet’s promotion of marty supreme 😭🙏,” one person commented. Another wrote, “Why are they giving Marty Supreme in the beginning?”

As the camera panned out, viewers were able to see the Las Vegas skyline, including the iconic Ferris wheel, the High Roller. The Complete Unknown actor stood strapped into a safety harness.

Once fully zoomed out, he appeared on top of the Sphere, yelling and cheering until the video ended.

Chalamet recently faced backlash after saying "no one cares” about ballet and opera during his Variety and CNN town hall with Matthew McConaughey on Feb. 24.

Despite celebrities like Charlie Puth chiming in, Whoopi Goldberg saying, "When you crap on somebody else's art form, it doesn't feel good, it doesn't feel good to see," and the Metropolitan Opera responding, Chalamet has yet to publicly address his prior comments.
