Gabourey Sidibe's twins are already talking — in fact, they're already saying a few choice words.
The actress spoke with PEOPLE at the Lifetime Celebrates the New Movies of Love of a Lifetime event in Los Angeles, Calif. on Tuesday, Jan. 28 and gave an update on her 23-month-old twins Cooper and Maya.
Sidibe, who shares her kids with husband Brandon Frankel, told PEOPLE that her little ones have already picked up a few words that they maybe shouldn't be saying.
"I'm actually three months into the terrible twos. They are not 2 yet, but they are very advanced," the star said of her kids. "The doctors say they're advanced. And they have been running me ragged for months at this point, just cussing us out over whether we're having noodles or french fries, if we're going outside, if we're going outside fast enough. They know a lot of words, and they can actually communicate with us now, which is fantastic."

As for what word her little ones are saying?
"They say the 'S' word, but they say it correctly," she said. "Like, if they drop a toy, they'll go, 'Oh s—!' I'm like a grandmother, I have to ignore it, but when they are a little older, we'll be like, 'Stop!'"
"We don't laugh, we don't laugh at them, we don't encourage it, and it's so hard not to laugh because it's hilarious," continued Sidibe. "But it's also terrible when a baby curses. That's a failure on us. We should have stopped cussing a long time ago, but we didn't know that they were going to be advanced. We didn't know."
This past Christmas, Sidibe's husband Frankel shared a few photos of their family of four on Instagram as they celebrated the holiday together. The foursome could be seen wearing matching pajamas, which featured patterns in blue, turquoise and yellow. Sidibe held one of the couple's twins, while Frankel held the other.
"Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Frankel’s [sic]! This year I got everyone matching African print family pajamas to keep the annual tradition going with a nod to @gabbysidibe , my African print Queen!" Frankel wrote in his caption.

"As she says 'this is our Super Bowl,' and I was probably more excited for them to wake up to all their presents than they were," he continued. "They’re so big now, and their 2nd Christmas they have more of an idea what’s happening. These three are all the gifts I need. And don’t worry- we’re throwing in our Jewish tradition of Chinese food haha ❤️🥰."
Back in April, Frankel and Sidibe celebrated their twins' first birthday. The father of two shared a heartfelt post via Instagram with several snaps of him and his little ones from their big day.
Both twins wore onesies to mark the occasion, with Cooper in a blue one with a matching bow tie and Maya in a pink unicorn design with the number written in script at the bottom.
"HAPPY HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY COOPER & MAYA!!!" the proud dad wrote in the captions. "Can’t believe a whole year of loving you has gone by. You make your Mom and me so proud every single day! You’re the most hilarious, sweet, well-behaved babies."
"It’s been an honor to get to know you both and help you grow into the little miniature people you are- walking, talking, dancing, hugging, kissing, demanding songs, calling every animal 'CAT!', eating big people food- just the absolute best," he continued. "And we can’t wait to watch you continue to learn, grow, and explore the world. We LOVE being your parents- the best is yet to come! HAPPY HAPPY ONE YEAR MY LOVES ❤️😭🎉🎂🎈🎁."
