Nearly 30 years before the sequel — out in theaters on Sept. 10, 2026 — A-listers came out to support Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock’s future cult classic

Hollywood showed up and showed out for the premiere of the original Practical Magic.
The 1998 fantasy romance film starred Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock as the Owens sisters, who discover they are descended from a long line of witches cursed to see their lovers die an untimely death. Practical Magic had its premiere in Los Angeles on Oct. 13, 1998, attended by cast members Bullock, Stockard Channing and Evan Rachel Wood, as well as plenty of other A-listers including Matthew McConaughey and Fergie. (Kidman was performing The Blue Room in London at the time.)
Nearly three decades later, the Oscar-winning actresses return to their roles as Sally and Gilly in Practical Magic 2, with Joey King and Maisie Williams portraying their grown-up daughters.
