Kardea Brown’s wedding weekend is getting into full swing — and for the Food Network star, that means hauling her “massive” gown onto a Delta Airlines flight.
On Wednesday, March 6, the Delicious Miss Brown host, 37, gave fans a peek into her wedding preparations before she ties the knot with her fiancé Bryon Smith later this week. In an Instagram Stories post, she shared a video of her wedding dress bag sitting on top of a suitcase, seemingly getting ready to be loaded onto the plane as a carry-on.
“Shoutout to our amazing @Delta flight attendants who went above and beyond accommodating my massive @laurybride gown,” Brown captioned the short video.

The Kids Baking Championship host has been candid about her wedding planning process. In January, she shared footage to Instagram of herself visiting the Laury Bride bespoke bridal shop in Chicago. The clip — set to the Eric Benét song “Spend My Life with You” — gives fans a glimpse of the elegant salon and its racks of gorgeous dresses, before ending with owner and designer Laurie Underwood opening a set of shimmery curtains to reveal Brown.
Although she has seemingly decided to save her dress reveal for the actual wedding day, Brown wrote in the caption about why she visited Underwood’s salon — as the bridal designer was a contestant in season 14 of Project Runway — to create her one-of-a-kind wedding gown.

“I SAID YES TO THE DRESS at @laurybride!!!!” she began, before explaining that she’s been “very intentional” during her wedding planning process to work with “small businesses and entrepreneurs, particularly minority women-owned businesses.”
Brown went on to share that she gave Underwood a series of inspiration photos for her dream dress, and the designer executed her vision “in a remarkably short period.” Then, she and some girlfriends traveled to Chicago to do her first — and final — fitting.
“I couldn’t be happier with the entire process,” she wrote in part.

The social worker-turned-chef first announced her engagement to Smith on Instagram on New Year’s Day in January 2023. Alongside footage of Smith getting down on one knee and presenting her with a ring as loved ones cheered from off-camera, she wrote, “And this is how I brought the New Year in……Cousins I’M GETTING MARRIED!!!!! The best night of my life ❤️.”
She also included a sweet shout-out to her fiancé: “To the love of my life…. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you 🥹.”
Two years later, on New Year’s Day in 2025, she teased that her wedding would be right around the corner, writing on Instagram: “2025….. the year we become one! Looking forward to the many blessings this year will bring.”
