Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are taking in competition, laughs, inspiration and more at the 2025 Invictus Games.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex traveled to Canada for the adaptive sporting competition for sick, injured and wounded service personnel and veterans that Harry founded in 2014. This year’s event is split between Vancouver and Whistler, featuring winter sports for the first time in the Invictus Games’ history.

Prince Harry and Meghan popped up at Team U.S.A.’s breakfast on Feb. 8, where the Duchess of Sussex made a quip about her acting past.
Leandra Moehring told PEOPLE exclusively, “We told her we saw her on Suits. And she’s like, ‘I’m sorry I’m not wearing a pencil skirt,’ ” referring to her character’s go-to office uniform.

On stage, Prince Harry told the competitors, “Over the past decade, I’ve lost count of the times that we’ve heard you tell us that the Invictus Games ‘saved you.’ Respectfully, I disagree. Invictus didn’t save you. You saved yourself.”

Both Prince Harry and Meghan shared a sweet moment with a “starstruck” fan. Wyatt Hutchison, 10, called out to Harry “as loud as he could,” his mom, Lindsay Hutchison, tells PEOPLE.
Wyatt called Harry and Meghan “nice” and explained that they talked about sports.
“Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Lindsay says. “He’s a little starstruck!”

At the wheelchair curling event on Feb. 9, Harry and Meghan met Ali Harper and Thorn, a 3-year-old black Labrador retriever who supports mental health for first responders in the Yukon. The interaction prompted Prince Harry to remember Guy, the beagle that Meghan rescued in 2015 who recently died.
“Harry came right over and sat down right next to Thorn and kneeled down and started petting him and said how much he misses his dog,” Harper, 43, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “And said thank you very much for what we do with Thorn.”
She adds that Meghan had a “small interaction with Thorn as well, and then we were able to take a group photo.”

Meghan recently returned to Instagram, and she was seen filming with her phone on several occasions during the Invictus Games. She shared many Instagram Stories over the first days of the event, including a look at Harry’s dance moves.
