Eva Mendes is more than happy with her one and only tattoo.
After posting a series of photos on her Instagram on Friday, Aug. 28, including one of herself sitting in a car while holding up her tattoo that reads “de Gosling,” the actress and entrepreneur, 52, shared that the tattoo on the inside of her wrist is the only one she’s ever wanted.
“It’s the only one I have, the only one I’ve ever wanted,” Mendes wrote in the comments of the post after one of her followers pointed out the ink.
Mendes, who has been very private when it comes to her 15-year relationship with fellow actor Ryan Gosling — whom she met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011 — debuted her tattoo in September 2022.

In Latino culture, the use of “de” or “of” joins the woman’s last name with her husband’s after marriage, leading some fans to speculate that the star’s tattoo is indicative of a “Mrs. Gosling” title.
While appearing on Channel Nine’s Today in November 2022, Mendes referred to Gosling, 45, as her “husband” in passing.
“Everyone is so welcoming here, and my husband Ryan is here, and we are having the best time,” she said at the time.
Us Weekly reported in 2016 that the pair secretly got married. However, sources confirmed to PEOPLE at the time that the reports weren’t true.

Since then, Mendes has shared glimpses into the couple’s long-lasting romance. Last month, she revealed on social media that she and Gosling, who share daughters Esmeralda, 11, and Amanda, 10, recently welcomed a new furry family member: a dog named Charlie.
“Introducing Charlie, our newest member of our familia,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of herself playing in the grass with their two dogs. “We’re in love! Gracias to @californiadoodlerescues ♥️.”

Although their schedules are often busy, Mendes told PEOPLE in April that she and the La La Land actor make sure to “have date nights regularly” while prioritizing finding “together-time.”
As for what these date nights usually entail? “All the unmentionables,” Mendes quipped at the time. “I don’t know what else to say. We like movies, and we like going to the movies, so we try to keep that alive.”
“If you want attention, you go to certain places, and if you don’t, you know where to go,” she added. “We do the latter.”
