Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson could be hearing wedding bells at the White House.
The couple, who revealed their engagement at a White House event in December, are currently in the planning stages for their big day. While some might assume that the festivities would take place at President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla. — where most of the Trumps have exchanged their vows — a political source tells PEOPLE that the White House has also been considered as a possible venue for Don Jr., 48, and Bettina, 39.
“This would set them up for future political roles, whether Don Jr. goes after the presidency or something else,” the source says. “This is a consideration.”
The most recent White House wedding took place in November 2022, when President Joe Biden's granddaughter Naomi Biden married Peter Neal on the South Lawn. The last time a president's child was married at the White House was in 1971, when President Richard Nixon's daughter, Tricia, married Edward Finch Cox in the Rose Garden.
PEOPLE reached out to the White House and a spokesperson for Don Jr. for comment about the possibility of a White House wedding.
A Palm Beach source confirms to PEOPLE that a White House wedding is being considered, but adds a caveat: "The ballroom probably has to be finished."
President Trump demolished the East Wing of the White House in October 2025 to commence construction on his much-touted ballroom; however, on March 31, a federal judge temporarily paused the project, ruling that the president is not the "owner" of the building and suggesting congressional approval is needed.

As the East Wing is already demolished, the next steps will likely involve the president seeking approval from Congress to continue the project and construct the ballroom as he has planned, with private funds from his own coffers and from donors. If it is completed before President Trump leaves office in 2029, it could potentially be a viable venue for Don Jr. and Bettina.
The president was reportedly pleased by the news of his eldest son's plans to marry again. He had seemed to sour on Don Jr.'s previous fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle, a political source told PEOPLE after their relationship crumbled.
“The president is happy with the way Bettina looks, and wants his son to be satisfied in his next mate,” the source said at the time. “The Trumps were happy with [Don Jr.'s first wife] Vanessa, and also with Kim at first until she became a grandstander and attempted to put too much media and MAGA attention on herself.”

PEOPLE's latest Palm Beach source agrees, saying, "I think they're very well suited for each other. I think she's really a great example for him and a great role model. I mean, she fits in perfectly with that whole group,"
Bettina recently had a prominent public moment alongside the other Trump spouses. At President Trump's State of the Union address in February, she was seated right behind Don Jr., in a row with Tiffany's husband, Michael Boulos; Eric's wife, Lara Trump; and Ivanka's husband, Jared Kushner.

Don Jr. was previously married to Vanessa Trump for 12 years before she filed for divorce in 2018. The former couple shares five children, including their golfer-influencer daughter Kai, 17. Vanessa is now dating pro golfer Tiger Woods.
Meanwhile, Bettina, who grew up in Palm Beach as the daughter of a banker and a model, has never been married and has no kids.
